This trip highlights some of Canada's world renowned destinations such as Jasper National Park, the Icefields parkway and Banff National Park.
Your trip starts in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Vancouver. Gastown, Chinatown, Stanley Park, profound museums, fine cuisine, home to a rich First Nations history and heritage, surrounded by the mountains and touched by the breath of the North Pacific makes it a wonderful place.
Victoria is the next pearl on your trip. Meet up with some ghosts at the Craigdarroch Castle. Try out the Fan-Tan Alley in the Chinatown District, the narrowest street in Canada. Don't forget to plan a whale watching expedition. At the Oak Bay Marina you can get up close with marine life.
On the road to Whistler you will travel through Duncan, City of Totems. The 'Sea-to-Sky Highway' holds many opportunities for you to enjoy. One of Whistler's many attractions is the Peak to Peak Gondola, the highest and longest unsupported cable car span in the world.
You will be charmed by Wells Grey Provincial Park with its extinct volcanoes, lava beds, mineral springs, glaciers and a number of spectacular waterfalls.
Jasper National Park, the Icefields parkway and Banff National Park take you to the next level of scenic driving and adventure, from the greatness of the surrounding and retreating glaciers, the immense expanse of nature to the finesse of the human touch in the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise or the fine art of engineering revealed through the Spiral Tunnels in Yoho National Park. Being an important wildlife corridor with more than 50 mammal species such as grizzly and black bears, cougar, lynx, wolves, elk, deer mountain goats, bighorn sheep and pika you are likely to meet several of them.
On the road back to Vancouver you will enter one of the most active avalanche areas in the world in Glacier National Park. Don't worry, five tunnels allow you a save passage. Finally the landscape turns into the rolling hills of Okanagan lake country covered with vineyards and orchards. It is time to taste the sun. Don't forget to take the sun with you while heading back to Vancouver. Watch out for some hidden gems on the road. Coquihalla Canyon and Xaytem are both special places with quite a story to tell.

Info for this point: Here you can find displays of local human and natural history, a gift shop and a Travel Info Centre. Centre staff have detailed topographic maps of Wells Gray Provincial Park for sale and they can provide current information about road, trail, campground and weather conditions throughout the Wells Gray and Clearwater area.
 
Day 9:The South Rim Trail leads you pretty close to the fourth highest waterfall in Canada, Helmcken Falls. This trail is special because of the different angle, but it is not a trail for small children, as there are no safety fences. Most tourists only get up to the Westside viewpoint. But there's much more to see and do such as Ray farm, flourmill vulcano area, Ray Mineral Spring or Bailey's Chute.
