Florida the sunshine state

Florida the sunshine state

On this 12 day trip of 1641,85 km (1020,20 miles) we'll guide you through a spectacular Florida holiday.

As the license plate indicates, Florida is the "Sunshine State". So close to the equator there are no traditional four seasons. Roughly said Floridians talk about Hurricane (or Rainy) or Dry Season. Most of the tourists will honour Florida with a visit from mid-December to mid-April, when the dress code appears to be 'the less the better'. This is called high-season. If you're not afra...

If you're not afraid of some tropical showers or a hurricane that blows through, April through May, and September through November are another possibility.

A Florida vacation is all about state-of-the-art surfing, silky shores, endless beaches, snorkeling, diving, jet-skiing, tasting the famous Key Lime pie, mangroves, swamps, Walt Disney, crocodiles, alligators, airboat tours, historic forts, mysterious shipwrecks, extensive coral reefs, glass bottom boat tours, black bears, manatees, sea turtles, shark teeth hunting, and even more. This trip is just a small selection of the great opportunities Florida offers. This trip is well suited for families with children.

Florida Black Bear National Scenic Byway

Florida Black Bear National Scenic Byway3 nights
Birthplace of Speed Park

Look for accommodation in Ormond Beach.

Ormond Beach is known as the "Birthplace of Speed". It is surrounded by beautiful byways: A1A Scenic and Historic Coastal Byway, Ormond Scenic Loop and Trail and Florida Black Bear National Scenic Byway. With three superb beaches and located within the triangle of St. Augustine, Ocala National Forest and the Space coast this is the perfect hub for the coming exciting days.

Info for this point: Once the automobile sector realised that the hard-packed sand of Ormond Beach was ideal for race courses, on March 26, 1903, the first timed trials were held here.

Day 8:Exploring Ocala National Forest is a delight. It has the state's largest populations of Florida black bears. It protects the world's largest contiguous sand pine scrub forest. You can swim, snorkel, and dive in the crystalline waters of numerous lakes, rivers, and springs. We suggest you to make this a lazy day at a cool, bubbling spring such as Juniper Springs. Juniper Springs Recreation Area is one of the oldest and best known recreation areas on the East Coast.

Day 9:You'll spend a part of this day on a space adventure at the Kennedy Space Center. This is the only place in the world where you can walk under the largest rocket ever flown, but of course there is much more. Tour back to Ormond Beach and make a stop at Canaveral National Seashore where you can reflect on the longest expanse of pristine shore in Florida. The Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral are part of a region known as the Space Coast.

Day 10:Driving: From Ormond Beach "Birthplace of Speed Park" to Miami South Beach your estimated driving time is 4 hours and 4 minutes.
